We know shipping live animals is a serious responsibility — that’s why BlueRipple Aquatics uses professional-grade packing techniques and trusted carriers to make sure your fish arrive healthy and stress-free. Here’s exactly how we pack and ship your livestock, what services we use, and how to ensure the best experience possible on delivery day.

📦 How We Pack Your Fish

  • Insulated Styrofoam-Lined Boxes: Every order is shipped in a thick-wall styrofoam container inside a sturdy cardboard box to regulate temperature.
  • Pure Oxygen + Secure Bags: Fish are packed in oxygen-filled, double-bagged or breather bags depending on species.
  • Heat or Cold Packs: Based on your local weather forecast, we include temperature control packs when needed.
  • Individual Packing: Aggressive, sensitive, or fin-nipping species are always bagged separately.
  • Minimal Waste: We use eco-friendly materials whenever possible and avoid excess filler.
How We Pack and Ship Live Fish

🚚 Shipping Carriers & Options

  • USPS Priority Mail: 2–3 day delivery. Budget-friendly but not guaranteed. Use at your own risk — no Live Arrival Guarantee.
  • UPS 3 Day Select: Available for non-sensitive species. Reduced guarantee options.
  • UPS Next Day Air (Recommended): Arrives in 1 business day. Required for sensitive species. Live Arrival Guarantee only applies to UPS Overnight shipments.

📅 Shipping Days & Cutoffs

  • We ship every Monday and Tuesday to avoid weekend delays
  • Orders placed after Sunday may ship the following week
  • Tracking numbers are sent via email once your order leaves our facility

🧊 Weather Monitoring

We actively monitor your location’s forecast before shipment. If temps are too extreme, we may delay or reschedule your order — always with communication. Fish safety is our #1 priority.

⚠️ Shipping Tips for Buyers

  • Use an address where someone can receive the package immediately
  • Track your shipment and acclimate fish ASAP upon arrival
  • Photograph any issues within 1 hour of delivery for DOA coverage
  • Always choose UPS Overnight for best results — especially in winter or summer
